Now that my microwave has broken again and for the last time, this versatile countertop appliance is serving me very well as a replacement. No, you can’t nuke a cup of coffee in 30 seconds. Best to drink that fresh -brewed cuppa jo while it’s nice and hot rather than letting it sit around!
The Steam Convection Oven by Cuisinart is one of the best kitchen purchases I’ve made. I use it nearly every day for breakfast (toast, eggs, and bacon) lunch, (melty tuna or cheese sandwiches, and BLT’s – yum more bacon!) and dinner (lasagna, fresh fish, chicken thighs, steamed vegetables).
For regular bacon, set the dial to Bake Steam mode @ 375 degrees for 18 minutes. The steam prevents scorching and you’ll be delighted how light and crispy your bacon is! When cooking thick sliced bacon you will want to add more time.
Don’t forget dessert! Cookies, cakes, crisps, cobblers, banana bread, etc. all turn out perfectly! I made these beautiful Vegan Raspberry Crumb Bars and was impressed with the way they browned up so nicely. My client raved and now they’re a regular part of her service menu. I’ll be experimenting with combining other fruits like peaches w/ blueberries and pears w/ cranberries soon.
